ST MATTHEW'S CHURCH
REGULAR SERVICES
The traditions of St Matthew’s are treasured by the congregation – our services, choral participation and the reliable rituals of your birthday being read out wherever you live in the world, midnight mass at 11.30pm, and posies on Mothering Sunday. The church has proved a haven for those who espouse the traditional liturgy of the King James Bible and The Book of Common Prayer around which our services are based. But we also use other accessible versions of the bible, particularly with our Sunday school. We are otherwise very liberal. Much of the language of worship is akin to poetry and at our church we dip into the rich heritage of literature and poetry in our service.

THE ST MATTHEW'S FAMILY
There is a strong community feel to the congregation with most staying on for refreshments served in the church hall after the service.
It is this all-inclusive community spirit that drives what our church is about, what it does and how it organises itself. The essential story of a Christian community is simply the works of love performed by the members and here at St Matthew’s the creativity and liveliness of our church comes through the initiatives and talents of individuals - of varying ethnic backgrounds and orientations - and their many and varied contributions to Parish life. Many of the congregation get as much from their church family as the service itself, this being joyfully evident when ‘the family’ is brought together at the various church lunches and events throughout the year.
Many other churches in Ealing offer a more modern service, more variety of worship and evangelical outreach work. What makes us different is our use of the Book of Common Prayer in a traditional, choral-led service; our reach into the local community through the more accessible Christian occasions (Christenings, Weddings, Carol services, Easter, Advent, Nativity, etc).
